Our client, a global oil and gas company, lacked consistent performance metrics within and across 14 different data sources. Requests for basic metrics required months of data cleansing, and analysis and results were inconsistent. As a result, gauging performance (lift and ROI) was difficult and subject to interpretation. In addition, the client wished to include outside sources in their analysis for further insight.
We consolidated 14 data sources into a cloud-based data warehouse (AWS), and determined data cleansing rules for every source, some of which lacked documentation. After the results were validated across departments, we identified requirements, and then developed and deployed dashboards across the enterprise, which we maintain and update monthly.
Our dashboards are considered the single source of truth for key metrics. As a result of our work, several loyalty programs have been modified, and one has been discontinued. The data warehouse is used as the source for U.S. Fuels forecasting and risk analysis.
